We have a great group of people who help facilitate our worship services by providing technical support. We need operators for sound, lighting and video systems. If you are interested in serving please contact Brian Price at

The Bible describes how God instructed the Israelites to use their musicians and artists to create music and artistic furnishings and visually stimulating environments to give glory to God. Just as they used the technology that was available to them, we should use what is available to our church to lead people in worship of our Lord. The Apostle Paul tried to be culturally relevant without compromising the Word, so we need to find ways to be more culturally relevant in our communications and media methods "so that by all possible means [we] might save some." |

Position: Sound Operator
This person will serve an average of one week per month. The schedule for that week would be:
Wed. 6:00pm – 7:15pm, Sun. morning 7:50am – 12:00pm and Sun. night 5:30pm – 7:00pm
The sound operator is responsible for mixing the instruments and vocalists during the worship music time, controlling the audio level of any videos that are presented, and controlling the audio of anyone that is speaking with a microphone during the worship services. This person also sets out the wireless mics for each service and any other audio equipment that does not normally stay on the stage. The sound operator also records the audio portion of the services on a digital recorder and on a cassette tape for others to use in duplicating. This person should be comfortable with (or have the ability to learn about) audio equipment such as sound mixers, compressors, equalizers, recorders, microphones, and cables.

Position: Graphics Operator
This person will serve an average of one week per month. The schedule for that week would be:
Wed. 6:00pm – 7:15pm, Sun. morning 7:50am – 12:00pm and Sun. night 5:30pm – 7:00pm
The graphics operator is responsible for the images that are displayed on the big projection screen at the front of the sanctuary, the projection screen used by the choir and the pastor, and the TV monitors that are under the balcony. Most of the work in this position involves using a PC to display lyrics and background images in time with the music as it is being sung. We are currently using Song Show Plus as the software for presenting lyrics. Most of the videos we play are on the PC and controlled by the Song Show Plus program. Sometimes we play videos from a DVD player and the graphics operator controls the DVD player. This person also starts the PowerPoint Slideshow that is controlled by the pastor during the sermon. A graphics person should be comfortable with using a PC and DVD player and should ideally have a sense for what background images work best with the mood of a song and the message of the lyrics.

Position: Lighting Operator
This person will serve an average of one week per month. The schedule for that week would be:
Sun. morning 8:30am – 12:00pm and occasionally on Sun. night 5:45pm – 7:00pm
The lighting operator is responsible for using the lighting board to control the levels of the lights in the sanctuary. This includes the different spotlights that shine on various areas of the stage and front of the sanctuary as well as the lights that illuminate the seating area on the floor and in the balcony. The lighting operator helps control the mood of the service as well as assists the worship leaders in focusing the congregation’s attention on a particular person or group of persons when appropriate. During special presentations the duties also include controlling lights with scrolling gels that wash the stage in various colors. Ideally this person would be willing to adjust the position of lights in the catwalk area above the sanctuary.

Position: Camera Operator
This person will serve an average of one or two weeks per month. The schedule for that week would be:
Sun. morning 8:45am – 12:00pm and occasionally on Sun. night 5:45pm – 7:00pm
The camera operator is responsible setting up and operating the video camera that is used to record the worship services. This person would control the camera by changing the angle of the camera and the zoom amount to capture the worship service on video tape. The camera operator will need to have a good sense of what is pleasing and non-distracting with regard to panning and zooming while recording the services. A few times per year we use multiple cameras to record a special service. These events require multiple camera operators.
