Paradise Pond© emphasizes equipping first-graders to know “the only true God” by studying His character. The ambiance of the room and the attitude of the mentors play significant roles in helping children know God, not just know about Him, for these elements offer a backdrop of refreshing refuge, love, and laughter. We want them to “taste and see that the Lord is good.” They will have a “toadally” fun time as they gather around Paradise Pond to learn what it means to fully rely on God (F.R.O.G.). Lily, a young girl lost and saddened by the “outside” world, wanders into this wonder-filled place where she will learn about God along with the children. Oakley, the talking tree, Fred the frog, and other zany characters inhabiting the pond will help to teach the children and Lily about who God is as He interacts with major characters in the Old Testament, for as Job observes, “Ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.” Job 12:7-10
In the end, Lily and the children discover God’s transforming Light that shines through the dark and weary world. Lily finds the courage to go back to the outside world alone, believing in “the only true God” and trusting that He will always be with her.
Welcome aboard the HMS Gospel©, where your child will “sail” through a chronological study of the life and times of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God and the Savior of mankind. The ship, under the command of Captain Braveheart and his able-bodied sailor (assisted by a family of ship rats), will take the “mates” to different “ports of call” in Jesus’ life. The “x” on the map of Israel always marks the spot where they discover Treasures of Truth about Jesus. The Voyage of the HMS Gospel© emphasizes equipping second graders to answer Christ’s question to Peter: “Who do you say that I am?” At the end of the year, the crew of the HMS Gospel will then be exhorted to respond to Jesus as He commands them to “follow Me” as His disciples.
The Mission to Planet Earth© emphasizes equipping third graders to fulfill Jesus’ call to be His witnesses and His lights to the world. As “shining stars” the cadets learn how to be God’s i2 representatives by studying the book of Acts and the lives of great, historical missionaries.
The preparation for their life’s mission includes studying the Keys to the Kingdom, a system that teaches them how to become and Christian and what it means to be a Christian. Their lessons are taught on board the Starship Redeemer, captained by Ambassador Lightbearer and first mate, Pixel. After a year of training, concluding with an “invasion” of Planet Earth, the children are launched into their mission as life-long ambassadors for Christ.
In Search of the Sacred Door© is a knowledge-based course in the Bible—its definition, history, structure, and story from Genesis to Revelation. Using the metaphor of an archaeological expedition to the Holy Land, the fourth-grade children gain a basic literacy of the Bible. From their tent in the Israeli desert, they are led in their adventures by Dr. Bones and Dr. Bones and their sidekick Eureka. Often they must pass through Pilgrim’s Portal where Talmon, the unseen doorkeeper, tests them on their knowledge of Scripture. “Fabulously rare” artifacts, relating to the Bible story, are un-covered by the children at the dig sites. They ultimately discover that Jesus is the Sacred Door and their hearts are the keys to opening this Door to eternal life.
The Knights of the Cross© focuses on developing the character of Christ in fifth graders by using the metaphor of the noble knight embattled in spiritual warfare. The children are trained first as pages by the occupants of Covenant Castle: Sir Victor, Lady Grace, Truthsayer, and Reynard. As Sir Victor shares with them his quest for the Seven Living Stones of Virtue, the children learn the Christ-like qualities they need to develop in order to battle the powers of darkness: valiant, compassionate, noble, chivalrous, disciplined, steadfast, and submissive. After completing this training, the pages become Squires of the Realm. Throughout the year, the evil Lord Lucifer attempts to thwart their training as Christ’s knights. By confronting him, the children receive practical training for spiritual warfare on the battleground of their everyday lives. At the end of the year the children are dubbed Knights of the Cross at a magnificent, medieval banquet .
